At this time of year, I love to bring some of the treasures
of the outdoors inside with me.
It helps me stay in touch with my garden
as the wind blows and the rain pours down.
It's a quiet time, a time to enjoy the detail
and rich brown of a fern frond, and the curious twist of a pumpkin stem.
A time to remember the peeps of the baby birds and to marvel at the intricacies of a handful of feathers.
A time to take joy in the varying textures and colors
of moss and birch bark.
A time to delight in the harvest
of creation's beauty.
